While not seeing Logan yet in theaters, what Fox is doing now with their stand-alone films is surpassing anything that Warner-DC and Disney-Marvel have done in recent years. Suicide Squad wanted so desperately to be this.. but it ended up just a mess surrounded by unmasked Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Maybe it’s just the way that the Deadpool character breaks that 4th wall and uses meta jokes as commentary to not take himself too seriously. It turns out it’s genuine and entertaining. The first Deadpool movie broke what.. every rated R record ever? Marvel cant do that under the Disney shadow so they plaster Baby Groot onto everything.. (and is Harley Quinn the DC equivalent to Baby Groot?  I dunno-prolly).

We’re still a year away.. but you remember how excited you were when the teaser for The Force Awakens came out a year before its own release? It’s the world we live in.
